Modernist style with a green soul
A stone’s throw from Richmond’s bustling Swan Street, Brighton is a mixed-use development offering true variety in living with a combination of one, two and three bedroom residences.
Designed by Rob Kennon Architects, the project encompasses townhouses and a café premises on the ground plane and apartments above. The building features a central open air atrium with vertical gardens that open out to the main garden on level three.
The modernist façade complements the changing architectural scene of the suburb. Showing that design is truly at the core, each apartment has a dual aspect to direct daylight to create light-filled living spaces and allow for cross flow ventilation.
Connectivity within the structure has played a key role in the overall design, with glass walkways linking the upper forms above the treetops of the central garden below.
Furthering the emphasis on greenery, outdoor spaces and access to light, Brighton includes a rooftop garden with 360-degree views of Richmond and beyond, and has applied the principles of environmentally sustainable design (ESD) excellence.
